People to thank

Here is a list of people whom we don't even think of thanking for the service they do to the society as a whole. We don't spare a thought for those people who make our lives easier and we tend to frown upon them because of the work they do... obviously we "Dignity of Labor" has not yet caught up in India (Don't think it ever will , anyways)

1. Traffic Police : They are corrupt agreed ... but they do manage to keep the traffic flowing and make sure that it is a reasonably OK to travel in the city .O come on .. Bangalore was not supposed to be such a huge city with so many vehicles ... Boom !! people decide to come and settle here from all over the country and decide to buy a number of vehicles ... it is not the police's problem . For the meager amount they are paid , with all the pollution they have to deal with , I think they are doing a reasonably good job.

2. Road Sweepers : I remember the time when Bangalore did not have any sweepers who come in early in the morning and sweep the roads and clean the pavement. O I do .. we had gotten the tag of the 'Garbage City' .. A group of men and women , wearing their green coats come and sweep and tidy the public areas so that Bangalore stays reasonably clean .

3. Garbage Collectors: Without these people Bangalore will be this perfect 'Garbage City' :) .... we frown at the smell , give dirty looks to those people who come to collect the garbage and to the truck which stink up to high heaven . But think of the people who do this job to keep our city clean . They earn a mere pittance and we treat them shabby.

4. Our Maids: Without they good ladies a large number of households Will stop functioning. Just imagine our busy lives without these people. We certainly cannot do every household chore by ourselves and go to work . It is true that people abroad do everything by themselves , but o no we cannot do it. Now these women are demanding their rights and huge amounts of money , but it is their right.

This is just a small list but just think about a number of people like IT Housekeeping staff who look after all our needs so that we just work and leave ... we really need to appreciate these people a little more and respect the good work they do ...

Moral science lesson complete :P
